Western Nevada College is still selling tickets to its athletics fundraiser featuring Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia.

The Jan. 16 event has drawn more than 700 supporters of the Wildcats' baseball and softball team, but some tickets are still available until 5 p.m. Thursday. Tickets are $75 or a table of 10 for $750.

The event at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in Reno will include a prime rib dinner, live music, hosted wine/beer, and silent/live auctions.

For tickets or more information call 445-3240.

At age 26, Pedroia has already earned all of baseball's most prestigious awards: American League Rookie of the Year in 2007 and Most Valuable Player in 2008.

Pedroia spent two summers playing American Amateur Baseball in Carson City as a 17- and 18-year-old.
