The storm that passed through Carson City early Wednesday morning dumped about two-thirds of an inch of rain, said Scott McGuire, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Reno.
"It was by no means record rainfall rates, but a decent soaking," McGuire said. "Obviously the Sierra received quite a bit more precipitation."
The Carson City region should expect clear, sunny weather through the weekend with highs in the 40s and 50s and lows in the 20s until Sunday night, when the first of a string of Pacific storms is expected to slam the West Coast, McGuire said.
He said the storm system, which will last throughout next week, will bring wet weather to the area, with snowfall confined to the Sierra.
