RENO - An ex-felon has been sentenced to 13 to 44 years in prison for the July kidnapping, beating and sexual assault of a woman at his Sparks home over a period of 19 hours.

Washoe County District Judge Robert Perry handed down the sentence Friday to 41-year-old Scott Casteel, who earlier pleaded guilty to six felonies, including kidnapping, false imprisonment and assault with a deadly weapon.

Also prosecuted in the case were Amanda Branson, Rebecah Carrara, Sarah Calvello and Joel Haddock.

Police said Haddock lured the woman to Casteel's home by promising to take her shopping.

Once at the home, she was handcuffed, beaten and sexually assaulted. She was let go after 19 hours.

Police said the other suspects witnessed the incident, and helped get rid of evidence.
