Obituary: Darwin K. Ellis

Darwin K. Ellis, 92, died Jan.16, 2010, in Gardnerville. He was born July 1, 1917, in Gardnerville to John and Norma Ellis. He was a longtime Douglas County fire chief. He is survived by son Darwin V. Ellis and his wife Ellen of Ridgefield, Conn.; daughter Susan Cleveland of Carson City; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 at St. Gall Catholic Church in Gardnerville. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Mottsville Cemetery. Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
