LAS VEGAS (AP) - Hundreds of young and old spectators braved wet weather in downtown Las Vegas to cheer a 28th annual community parade honoring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Dozens of floats, marching bands, drill teams and public safety representatives turned out for the Monday parade with the theme, "Living the Dream: Saluting Community Leaders."
Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Karen Bennett and Tony Gladney, vice president of national diversity relations for Harrah's Entertainment Inc., served as parade grand marshals.
Turnout was lower than last year's parade, which officials say drew about 30,000 spectators and about 300 entries.
