(Nevada Appeal Staff Report) - Extra deputies will be on the streets looking for drunk drivers over Super Bowl weekend.
Deputy Steve Olson said between Jan. 25 and Feb. 7, officers will be working overtime to keep the roads safe.
Statistics indicate Super Bowl Sunday is the second deadliest drunk driving event of the year.
"Our message is simple, no matter what you drive - a passenger car, pickup, sport utility vehicle or motorcycle - if we catch you driving impaired, we will arrest you. The Carson City Sheriff's Office is dedicated to arresting impaired drivers where ever and whenever we find them," Olson said in a press release.
The overtime is being paid for by a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety, Department of Public Safety.
