Dayton boys rally back to down Yerington

After trailing 25-21 at halftime Wednesday night, the Dayton Dust Devils finished the second half strong outscoring Yerington 19-10 in the third quarter and holding on for a 69-65 win.

The Dust Devils were keyed by Jake Koch's 23 points and Kage Walker chipped in 14.

Kaleb Jackson led the Lions with 16 points. Tyler Crowl added 14 and Burke Bristol had 12.

Dayton travels to Spring Creek on Friday and Lowry on Saturday as part of a four-game road trip. It closes the trip with a game at Fernley on Tuesday.

Yerington 42, Dayton 40

Dayton point guard Ariella Ruybal returned from a injured knee, but the addition wasn't enough for the Dust Devils.

After taking an early lead, Dayton (2-2) was outscored down the stretch and missed several opportunities with time winding down to tie the game.

Makenna Lommori led the Lions with 10 points, Trinity Thom added eight and Karmen Quintero and Ariel Richardson scored seven each.

Rachel Monzelo led Dayton with 10, Kathy Arias had eight and Ruybal had seven in her return.
