Super Burrito coming soon

Reno-based Super Burrito will open a Carson City location by March, owner Patricia Favela said Thursday.

The Mexican food eatery, which has a location in Reno and Sparks, will move into the former Burger King on S. Carson St., 1250 S. Carson Street.

Favela said the restaurant was established 17 years ago.

NNDA forming new committee

The Northern Nevada Development Authority is looking to fill a new "regional advisory committee" to help with financial analysis, transition and forecasting.

The NNDA is looking for people with experience in corporate services, accounting, corporate finances and company transitions.

New owner for Carson City's Garden Apartments

An Carson City apartment complex was sold to a Texas women two week ago.

Marilyn Mailloux, from Aubrey, Texas, purchased the Garden Apartments at 410 W. Winnie Lane on Jan. 13 for about $2 million.

Bob Fedlund, Dennis Smith and Larry Messina of Coldwell Banker Commercial Premier Bankers, brokered the deal.

Smith said Mailloux plans to repaint the property, which has 30 out of 34occupied units.

Basalite announces promotion

Basalite Concrete Products promoted Jeremy Anthony to dealer sales manager, replacing Chuck Maestas, who announced his retirement earlier this month, the company announced last week.

Anthony joined Basalite in 2000 as a dispatcher at Basalite's Carson City plant location and was promoted to transportation superintendent in 2005.

Anthony graduated from the University of California, Davis in 1994 and earned a masters in business administration in May of 2009 at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Basalite manufacturers and distributes interlocking pavers and hardscape products.

Tahoe financial planner honored for excellence

Jerry Klosterboer, a Zephyr Cove-based financial planner, was recognized with the Flame of Excellence award by his brokerage firm, First Allied Securities, Inc.

The honor is given to financial advisors who "have demonstrated excellence in the financial services field throughout their careers of 25 years or more," Klosterboer said in a statement.

Klosterboer joined the company in 1984.

Real estate forecast meeting in February

Colliers International will host the Commercial Real Estate Trends 2010 meeting on Feb. 1.

The meeting takes place at the Peppermill Hotel Casino in Reno inside the Tuscan Ballroom. Registration begins at 3:30 p.m. and the presentation starts at 4 p.m.
