(Nevada Appeal Capitol Bureau) - Former North Las Vegas Mayor Mike Montandon beat both Gov. Jim Gibbons and former federal judge Brian Sandoval in a Wednesday straw poll of Clark County Republican activists.
A total of 34 percent of those polled said they favored Montandon. Gibbons claimed 29 percent of those polled and Sandoval 26 percent.
Although his first campaign report showed he has collected less than half the $900,000 Sandoval has, Montandon pointed out that he has double the roughly $160,000 the governor reported receiving.
