Quilters, crafters and sewing enthusiasts know that it's time to get some great buys at the annual 4-H Fabric and Rummage Sale. This year's event will be held
9 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 6 and 9 a.m.-noon Feb. 7 at Fuji Park Exhibit Hall, 601 Old Clear Creek Road.
All proceeds from the sale support the Carson City/Storey County 4-H Council Education Scholarship Program, which provides higher education scholarships for local youth.
The event has become a popular annual tradition in Carson City, and this year, gently used rummage sale items will be available at the sale.
According to Jim Barcellos, Carson City 4-H and youth instructor, University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, "We held the first fabric sale eight years ago. It was so well received that we've made it an annual event ever since, and this year, we'll have other treasures, besides fabric to our offerings. People really look forward to the sale and are very supportive."
Volunteers also will be accepting donations of clean fabric and gently used rummage items 10 a.m-4 p.m. Jan. 31 and Feb. 5, at the Fuji Park Exhibit Hall. Donation receipt letters are available for tax purposes.
