LOS ANGELES - Authorities are watching the hillsides in foothill communities as a new storm heads into Southern California.
National Weather Service meteorologist Bonnie Bartling says a weak, cold storm front will arrive by early Tuesday afternoon but will only drop around a quarter-inch to an inch of rain.
However, last week's storms saturated slopes in the San Gabriel Mountains northeast of Los Angeles that were burned in the massive Station wildfire last year. Officials have said they're confident there won't be any problems with mudslides or flooding but they're monitoring the weather.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for mountains in Ventura and Los Angeles counties, where the storm could bring 3 to 6 inches of snow.
No rain is forecast the rest of the week.
