When D'Vine Wine owner Kim Donner saw the tragedy in Haiti unfolding on her television set, she bawled her eyes out. Then she decided she had to do something to help.

"I just have a real soft spot in my heart for people who are less fortunate, especially people going through a catastrophe, and I thought I could do something, even if it's just a couple thousand dollars, because I have a venue," Donner said.

The Carson Help For Haiti D'Vine Wine fundraiser will be held from 4-8 p.m. Feb. 6 at the wine shop, 200 N. Stewart St. The $20 advance price or $25 at the door will include a glass of wine and appetizers.

The evening will include live local music, and plans are in the works for a silent auction and other fundraising ideas.

All proceeds and tips from the event will go to help Haiti through the Red Cross.

Intuitive reader Karel Ancona-Henry will give 10-minute Tarot card readings. Reading donations will be accepted, which also will be donated to help the Haitians.

"Lots of friends will be donating their time, serving and helping," Donner said.
