Gentlemen Belles at the Leap Year Ball: General Clark wore the frizzed hair and pale lilac necktie, T. C. Pinckey wore a cut-away coat with black lining, costing at least a dollar a yard, Buck Zabriskie, hair banged in front, eyebrows painted to match gaiters and dyed moustache, Jack Marshall - fresh bath, Chris Batterman, new front teeth just ordered from Dr. Billings.

C. W. Friends Meteorolog-ical Estimate: December 1890 will go upon record as an exceptional year for precipitation ... the oldest residents of the state say that no such weather has been experienced since the winter of 1868-69.
R.R. still closed: The V & T is in as bad condition as ever ... Mr. Ardrey having two gangs at work got the men within a few hundred feet of each other by midnight just as the victory over the snow seemed assured, a wind sprang up. The snow poured into the cut all night and filled it level again.

Manned Satellite to Moon: The United States is planning to send a manned satellite around the moon and back to earth sometime between 1965 and 1967... with "a manned landing on the moon" after 1970.
