LOS ANGELES - A 22-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly attacking a woman with a stun gun and trying to steal her purse in East Hollywood.

Los Angeles police said Friday that they arrested David Victor Thomas after the alleged attack on Wednesday night.

Officer April Harding says Thomas approached the woman from behind and shot her with a stun gun to the back of the neck. She says Thomas pulled the woman to the ground and tried to take her purse, but witnesses went after him and held him until police arrived.

Harding says the victim left the scene before officers could interview her, but they want to speak to her.

They believe she suffered burns to the neck
