RENO (AP) - A 30-year-old Reno man has been sentenced to a year in jail after he admitted using his cell phone to film up the skirt of a female clerk at the Legends shopping mall at the Sparks Marina.
Washoe District Judge Connie Steinheimer imposed the maximum sentence on Christian Crews earlier this week after he pleaded guilty to the gross misdemeanor of capturing the private image of another.
Crews faces another video voyeurism charge stemming from a similar incident at a Reno antique mall in April. That preliminary hearing is later this month.
Police say they also investigated Crews for taking pictures of customers at a Reno grocery store in 2004, but state legislators didn't make it a crime into 2007.
