A Carson City mother was brought back to Nevada on Thursday after her arrest in California in the alleged abduction of her two sons from their father's Timberline home.

Kim Brune, 43, is being held in the Carson City Jail on suspicion of two counts of felony concealment or removal of a child from a person having lawful custody.

According to police reports, Chris Brune called 911 at 6:45 a.m. June 24 to report his two sons missing. Brune told police he got out of the shower and found the chain off the front door and his children, ages 5 and 7, gone. A neighbor allegedly told Chris Brune he had seen Kim Brune drive off with them.

According to police, court records and statements from Kim Brune's doctor supported Chris Brune's assertions that his estranged wife has schizophrenia and hadn't been taking her medications, and an Amber Alert was activated.

Detectives tracked Kim Brune to Vacaville through credit card records, and she was arrested. The children were reunited with their father later that day.

No court date has yet been set for Brune. She is being held on $50,000 bail.
