Swift Springs - healing waters: Ex-Sheriff Swift is constantly making improvements to his warm springs. Everybody knows how the hot water comes boiling up out of the foot of the hill and is impregnated with iron, magnesia and borax. The big spring is where the water when mixed with a little salt and pepper, tastes like chicken soup.

Bing Crosby served notice on inventors that he has nothing to do with a concern called Crosby Aircraft Corporation. He prefers his horses - which are unquestionably slower than airplanes.

George Meyers has a small reputation as a practical joker. He acquired a mine car and the door mysteriously became welded closed - by pranksters. After hours of unwelding the mine car door, George is now oiling up his six shooter.

Funding for the V&T Railroad project could be in jeopardy after the Convention & Visitor's Bureau agreed to reconsider the motion. Supervisors have vowed to challenge the CCVB's recent motion to allocate $1.2 million toward the railroad.
