LAS VEGAS (AP) - MGM Resorts International says 11 of its Las Vegas properties and the MGM Grand Detroit hotel-casino have received high marks from a program that audits and evaluates environmentally sustainable hotel operations.
The Las Vegas-based company says the Aria and Vdara hotels at CityCenter on the Las Vegas Strip received a highest 5-key rating from the Green Key Eco-Rating Program.
The Bellagio, MGM Grand Las Vegas, Mirage and New York-New York were among other Strip properties to get 4-key ratings, along with the Detroit hotel.
A company official says the resorts are the first in Nevada and Michigan to receive Green Key ratings.
MGM Resorts energy and environmental services executive Cindy Ortega says the designation shows a commitment to sustainable "green" operations in the hospitality industry.
