Two would-be thieves aiming to steal money Tuesday evening from a personal loan company were foiled by shop managers on North Carson Street, an official said.
Carson City Sheriff's Sgt. Scott McDaniel said the manger of Sun Credit at 1949 N. Carson Street was locking up the business about 7:30 p.m. when a man and woman came up and tried to take a money bag from her.
"She got into a tugging match with one of them and the manager of the cigar shop came out and assisted," said McDaniel.
The two managers were able to detain the woman until police arrived, while the man fled in a vehicle.
Carson City deputies located the car on Lone Mountain Drive. After searching the hillside, they found the male in the rocks above the cemetery, said Detective Dave Legros.
McDaniel said Christina Rodriguez, 41, and Victor Gomez-Cano, 36, were both arrested.
Each is expected to be jailed on suspicion of strong armed robbery, said Legros.
