PORTLAND, Ore.-Kevin Mulvey scattered four hits and allowed just two eighth-inning runs, leading Reno to a 5-2 victory over the Portland Beavers Wednesday night at PG&E Park.
Doug Deeds put Reno on the board in the third with a sacrifice fly after Mark Hallberg led off the inning with a triple.
The Aces tacked on another run in the fourth on an RBI-double by Carlos Corporan, before Brandon Allen broke the game open with a two-run homer off the right field foul pole which extended Reno's lead to 4-0.
Pedro Ciriaco would add a run-scoring single, which was more than enough for Mulvey.
Mulvey (5-6) was masterful throughout the game. He fanned seven before handing the ball to the Aces bullpen in the eighth.
