Oroville shocked: Oroville's "Four Hundred" is dreadfully worked up. A few days ago a number of young people of both sexes went picnicking ... the day was hot and all hands joined in wading in a pond. One of the young men had a Kodak with him and got some photographs of neat limbs.

Tex Ritter, cowboy singing star, is negotiating for the rights to "Green Grow the Lilacs" where he began his acting career.

Birth: Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bird are the parents of a baby boy born at their home. His parents have named him Jack Graham. Mrs. Bird is the former Miss Evelyn Rabe.

University of Nevada has named five Carson students on the Nevada Honor Roll ... Paul Bible, Jeanne Wamstad, Lester Armstrong, Hugh Alan Shamberger and Judith Maxsom.

The stock market was sharply lower in volatile trading, as the Dow Jones dropped more than 100 points. Gold was $361.75 an ounce and silver $4.89.
