Democratic gubernatorial candidate Rory Reid tours western Nevada this coming weekend, including stops at events in Reno, Washoe Valley and Genoa.
The first event Saturday is the Truckee Meadows Democratic Association picnic at Idlewild Park in Reno. The picnic is scheduled for noon.
From there, Reid heads for Bowers Mansion in Washoe Valley at 2 p.m. for the Carpenters Union Local 971 picnic.
At 4 p.m., he will be at Mormon Station Park in Genoa for the Douglas Democratic Club picnic.
Reid is focusing his campaign on the need to improve Nevada's schools, which, he said, rank last in the nation.
"Until we improve our education system, we will never achieve true economic diversity," he said.
