Almost everything at today's downtown farmers market

At the downtown 3rd & Curry St. Farmers Market today look for everything except - Nevada tomatoes.

Dave Ruf from Greenhouse Garden Center will be at the market (10-11 a.m.) talking about compost and answering your gardening questions and Linda Marrone will be at the Garden Center (same time) giving demos on what to do with your market bounty.

Come and meet our brand new Nevada Farmer, Rena Sullivan from Lucky Me Farms on Johnson Lane and enjoy the music of Vanessa Littrel.

Learn about lavender at workshop

Mike Campie, local lavender grower and owner of Campies Lavender Patch, will talk about the different varieties of lavender and be giving out growing tips during at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 7 at Greenhouse Garden Center, 2450 S. Curry St., Carson City.

Campie will also talk about the best lavenders for essential oil and how lavender can be used in cooking and other products. The session is free and no reservations are necessary.
