LAS VEGAS (AP) - Officials say more than 3.4 million passengers arrived and departed from McCarran International Airport in June, 1.1 percent fewer than in June 2009.
The Las Vegas airport reported Wednesday that about 19.6 million passengers used the airport during the first six months of 2010. That was down 3 percent compared with the same period last year.
Two of the five largest airlines with service to McCarran - United and US Airways - saw fewer passengers in June compared with the same month last year. US Airways saw a more than 55 percent drop, after cutting service to Las Vegas. United had about a 10 percent decrease.
Delta's traffic increased by more than 20 percent over June 2009. American had a 2.1 percent increase in passengers and Southwest saw two-tenths of a percent more travelers.
