Walking tour Sunday

The Carson City Historical Society presents "Through the Garden Gate" home/garden walking tour from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. There are seven locations on tour: Foreman-Roberts, Krebs-Peterson, Colcord, Beck/Barber/ Belnap, Crisler home/gardens and the Bliss mansion. Also on the tour is the Historic St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

Tickets are $15, with children 6 and younger free. Tickets are available at the Foreman-Roberts House, 1207 N. Carson St. from

11 a.m. the day of tour. Advance tickets are available at White Cat Antiques, 512 N. Curry St.; Carson City Convention & Visitors Bureau, 1900 S. Carson St.; and Greenhouse Garden Center, 2450 S. Curry St.

An Antique show and sale will be held at the Beck/Barber/Belnap home on the corner of Nevada and John streets from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Appraisals will be available for a nominal fee. There is no admission charge for the sale.

A "Garden Faire" will be held at the Historic St. Peter's Episcopal Church at the corner of Division and Telegraph streets featuring master gardeners, workshops, garden crafts and ideas from 11 a.m. to

4 p.m. There is no admission fee to this event.

'Happy Senior Tours' to travel to Boomtown

The Carson City Senior Center's "Happy Senior Tours" group will travel to Boomtown Tuesday.

The bus will load at 7:45 a.m. in the east parking lot of the senior center. It will depart at 8:15 a.m. sharp and return to the center at 4 p.m.

Golf tournament to benefit Nevada Day

Help keep the Nevada Day Parade in Carson City. The Kiwanis Battle Born Golf Tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Dayton Valley Golf Course.

Cost is $95 per player which includes a continental breakfast, cart, range balls, lunch and goodie bag. Proceeds will help fund the Nevada Day Parade and the Kiwanis Scholarship Fund.
