Police are investigating a burglary at the Carson Mall in which someone shattered two glass doors on the building's east side, then broke into Charley's Subs and Home Treasures.
The bandit also made a failed attempt at entering Slot World, a small casino inside the mall, by breaking some glass, but was unable to get through a gate, an investigator said.
Kevin Ray, mall manager, said a worker discovered the burglary this morning about 4:30 a.m.
He said it didn't appear anything was taken, and thought it could have been because the burglar was startled.
"We have patrols throughout the night and pretty much someone is there most of the time," he said. "They probably got scared because they didn't seem to take anything."
Ray said the mall is saturated with video cameras and investigators are reviewing those recordings this morning.
The mall will be open for business. Ray said the doors will be repaired today.
