Scott Magruder said Nevada Department of Transportation crews began laying the sealant on the northbound lanes of at 9 a.m. today. They were scheduled to finish by 3 p.m. but experienced delays. Traffic is backed up through the valley onto the Carson Freeway.

Thursday the southbound lanes will be sealed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and travel through the valley and on the Carson Freeway to Highway 50 East will be reduced to one lane.

"Southbound motorists can expect 10 to 20 minutes delays," said Magruder.
