Do not exempt Congress from 'no call' rules
I am extremely upset that Congress has seen fit to exempt politicians and paid pollsters from the "No Call" law. In the past month, I have been subjected to an average of 3-5 calls per day at all hours.
This is an unwarranted intrusion into my life and privacy. Other than the fact that you have the power to do it, I would like to know why you feel you should have the right to do this.
I think it is time for you, as members of the Congress, to rethink this exemption and repeal it. I anticipate your thoughts on this matter.

Socialist intrusions will haunt us for generations
I was sitting at my desk reading about the possibility of the state Legislature being called back for a special session to take care of a Medicaid amendment. This was voted out of the House of Representatives, and now each state will get hung with additional expenses if it gets through the Senate.
My wife brought our 4-year-old granddaughter in and set her on my lap, and made a comment she had to find something to unlock the bathroom door. I asked the granddaughter if she locked the door, and she told me she had. I asked why and she responded (it was) to keep the monsters from getting her. I assured her that there were no monsters in our house and if they did show up, the dogs would get them or Grandma would. I would sit back and direct traffic. She was happy with that and she snuggled in and started to fall asleep.
I went back to my article and my first thought was that this child has no idea what monsters await her as she grows up. One she will face is called Obamacare. The list will go on and the longer we have the socialists left putting in all of their entitlements, taxes will go up and our freedom will be lost. Obama, Reid and Pelosi are the monsters, and we all need to lock the bathroom door to keep them out and from doing anymore harm.

DA's letter to grads much appreciated
My son, along with approximately 473 other students graduated from Carson High School on June 5. Recently, he received in the mail a letter from the District Attorney's Office. I was pleasantly surprised to hear the contents of the letter as he read it to me.
A letter written and signed by our District Attorney Neil Rombardo was sent to all of the seniors congratulating them on their upcoming graduation. In the letter, Rombardo encouraged the students to participate in a safe and sober program offered by the school. He also recognized that all students may not make good choices, and in that case, asked kids to assist their friends and call a parent for help.
As a parent and an employee of Carson High School, I applaud Rombardo for showing an interest and concern in our children and taking the time to send this encouraging letter. Thank you Neil Rombardo, and congratulations Class of 2010.
