Jean LeGassick, a well-known Nevada artist who has been featured on a PBS special called "Plein-Air: Painting the American Landscape," will offer a demonstration of the plein air technique at 9 a.m. Saturday in Silver City. En plein air is a French expression used to describe the act of painting outdoors.
LeGassick has invited youths ages 10 and older to observe while she paints and explains her process. Children will later make their own paintings outdoors using water colors.
