RENO, Nev. (AP) - Rocco Mediate, Brendon de Jonge, Parker McLachlin and Scott McCarron are among the golfers who have made early commitments to play next month in the PGA Tour's Reno-Tahoe Open.

Mediate has five career wins on tour and finished second to Tiger Woods in a playoff at the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines. He tied for ninth at Reno last summer.

De Jonge is a native of Zimbabwe who was the first-round leader at the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach last week. He has five Top 25 finishes so far this season.

McLachlin won the Reno-Tahoe Open in 2008. He will be making his third appearance at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Montreux Golf & Country Club July 15-18.

Others in the field include Ryan Palmer, Daniel Chopra, former Nevada Wolf Pack golfer Rich Barcelo and ex-Reno resident McCarron, who also is serving as the tournament host.

"We're very happy with the commitments we've received so far from the PGA Tour," said Jana Smoley, the tourney's executive director.

"It's always a pleasure to have our past champions back at Montreux, especially one who has been a great partner in our community like Parker has, along with those who have continually supported us like Rocco and Chopra," she said.

Barcelo competed in the U.S. Open last week but did not make the cut. Prior to the Open, he had made seven cuts in 12 events and was 151st on the FedExCup list with 173 points.

Chopra stands at No. 189 on the FedExCup and has more than $7 million in career earnings. The native of Sweden has played more than 240 professional golf events since turning pro in 1992.

Palmer returns to the RTO in great shape with 676 FedExCup points, putting him in 33rd place. Palmer won the 2010 Sony Open in Hawaii and was neck-and-neck with John Rollins, who won at Reno last year.
