A Carson City woman who allegedly abducted her young sons while their father showered this morning, was located by police in Vacaville, Calif., about 12:30 p.m. today, some five hours after the father found them missing.

Kim Brune has been arrested by Vacaville Police, according to Carson City Undersheriff Steve Albertsen. Charges are not known at this time.

Brune and the boys were found unharmed near the Sports Chalet in Vacaville, 160 miles southwest of Carson City.

An Amber Alert was issued late this morning in the hunt for Kyle, 7, and Nicholas, 4. The Brunes are estranged, according to police.

Officers were concerned about the children because Brune is on psychiatric medications.

According to the alert, she was reported as being "prone to hallucinations, including hearing voices, and was reported as being delusional, believing she is under electronic surveillance."

Carson City investigators issued an Amber Alert for the non-custodial abduction of two children from their Timberline home this morning.

Sheriff Ken Furlong said the father reported the two children, Kyle, 7, and Nicholas, 4, missing after he got out of the shower. When the father, Chris Brune, asked a neighbor if he saw anything, the neighbor said he saw the two children leave with Brune's estranged wife Kim Brune, 43, who has no custodial rights to the children, said Furlong.

According to a Sheriff's Office alert, Brune "takes psychiatric medications and is prone to hallucinations, including hearing voices, and was reported as being delusional, believing she is under electronic surveillance."

Brune was seen leaving in a white 2004 Toyota RAV4, Nevada license plate 653PZF. The vehicle has numerous rear window stickers, said the sheriff.

Officers are searching the city for the vehicle, Brune and the children. She is known to frequent Wendy's and McDonald's restaurants and motels.

The father suspects Brune may be taking the children to Utah or Colorado, according to police.

"There are no family members or friends in Utah or Colorado, but Ms. Brune has gone to these states in the past when she has gone off her medications," the alert states.

Kim Brune is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.

Kyle Brune is described as 47 inches tall, weighing 47 pounds.

Nicholas Brune is described as 42 inches tall, weighing 43 pounds.
