Dotson steps down at Virginia City

Virginia City High School is looking for a new boys varsity basketball coach after Deny Dotson resigned after two years as head coach.

Dotson spent a total of eight years in the program. He was the JV head coach and also served a stint as the assitant varsity coach.

"Deny devoted eight years to Mucker basketball and the program is better because of his dedication", said VCHS principal Patrick Beckwith. "He not only helped make our student-athletes better basketball players, but more importantly he made them better young men.

"We have a rich tradition of basketball excellence at Virginia City. Our goal is to find a coaching candidate who appreciates this history and wants to add to it."

Virginia City has a storied boy's basketball program, garnering 17 state championships, the most of any high school in Nevada. The most recent title came in 2005.
