Harold Burdell Williams, 86, of Carson City, passed away June 26, 2010, at Carson Tahoe Hospital.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a past Nevada Commander of the American Legion. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after 30 years and moved to Bullhead City, Ariz., from Southern California, but never gave up his love of traveling throughout the country to visit friends and family. He especially enjoyed going to the USS Lackawana reunions. His strong spirit and inability to ever accept the phrase "can't be done" will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to know him.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Agnes Williams; children Michael and Peggy Williams, Michele and Brian Burke; grandchildren Jarrod Williams, Joshua and Jessica Burke, Daniel Burke, Meghan Burke, great-grandchildren Alyson and Kaitlyn Burke; his sister Norma Kiester.
A rosary was held Tuesday at Walton's Funeral home in Carson City and a funeral Mass will be 0 a.m. Wednesday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community with interment immediately following at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
