Vicky Pritchett has volunteered to bring back the Muscle Powered sponsored road rides.

They will start Sunday with some easy loops around Washoe Valley then gradually build the mileage in preparation for the Chico Wildflower Century at the end of April.

All ages and ability levels are welcome. Interested riders should meet at 10 a.m. at Bower's Mansion.

To participate in these rides, you must be a Muscle Powered member. Memberships and donations provide the primary source of funding for Muscle Powered projects.

Take out your cross-country skis for 10K or 5K tours led by Nina McLeod for the 11th annual Snowshoe Thompson Tour 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.

Dress from the 1850s is encouraged.

After the tours, there will be a demonstration of longboarding, the way Snowshoe did it, and a question-and-answer session with historian Frank Tortorich.

Fiddle music will be provided, along with refreshments from the Hope Valley Cafe and Market.

A donation of $10 is asked to maintain the statue erected to Snowshoe Thompson in Genoa.

Diamond Peak Ski and Snowboard School will be having two free Seniors Only Clinics.

The clinics are for anyone over 55 years old who may not have had a lesson in years or may have shaped skis. The purpose of these clinics is to show people how to ski more effectively and extend their ski days and years on the snow with new contemporary movement patterns.

The clinics will be 10 a.m.-noon Wednesday and March 24

Lessons will meet at the Base Lodge in the Fireside room at 9:30a.m. No reservation required.
