ATTITUDES HAIR SALON CUT-A -THON

It's that time again to spring forward and with spring, here comes baseball. That means Brandi at Attitudes Hair Salon will again throw open the doors to help support the Carson High School baseball teams. Each year the cut-a-thon helps supplement Carson High baseball for many needed items from equipment to uniforms. Come help out, get the family haircuts and grab a lunch for only $5 from the Knights of Columbus.

SAFE GRAD GOLF TOURNAMENT CLASS OF 2010

Safe Grad is an event sponsored by the Carson High PTSA on the night of graduation in June each year. Safe Grad has been a tradition in Carson City for 19 years, having started as a community response to a series of alcohol-related deaths of Carson High graduates on graduation night. I really admire this event for the fact that all seniors can attend this safe event and it doesn't cost them a penny. Some students never get to attend anything because they can't afford a student body card. This event is the best. No cost to the graduating students and an enormous amount of fun. Help by golfing in this upcoming tournament.

WHO: Safe Grad Golf Tournament

WHAT: Golf, lunch raffle and fun

WHEN: Sunday, April 18

WHERE: Thunder Canyon Ranch Golf Resort

COST: Green fees $85; pre-register before March 20 for $75 per player (green fees include cart and lunch)

CONTACT: Leo Drozdoff at 781-1889 or Brenda Collings at 691-9371

BODY & SOUL AND THE SUGAR PINE COVE PROM DONATIONS

Both these business women, Linda Martin or Teri Basa, have hearts of gold. If you haven't met them, do yourself a favor and go check out their establishments. Body & Soul offers an amazing array of healthy alternatives for your well-being and massages. Sugar Pine Cove provides unique gifts, one-of-a-kind items for any special event. These women graciously offered to be designated drop-off areas for Operation Fairy Godmother. If you have a daughter who has moved out and left her prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses or nice cocktail dresses in the closet ask if you can donate them to assist local young ladies who wish to attend the prom but can't afford the cost of tickets, flowers, shoes, jewelry and of course the perfect dress. If you like to donate gift certificates or purchase a ticket, all donations are tax deductible. These donations allow high school girls the opportunity of being a princess at prom.
