A group of Carson High School seniors, calling themselves "Perfect 10" for their graduating year, are seeking help going to prom.
Teresa Anya, 18, said the group of about five seniors cannot afford to attend the dance, but don't want to miss out on the rite of passage.
"It's our last year together," she said. "Then we're off to college, and our lives will take different directions. It's basically the last few days we have to spend together."
The students have organized a flapjack fundraiser at Applebee's 8-10 a.m. Saturday. Breakfast is $9 and $6 for children.
Anya said they are looking to raise between $600 and $700 for dresses and dinner. She said their parents are not in a position to help them.
This year's prom is May 8 at the Hyatt Regency Resort in Incline Village.
