Food drive
The Western Nevada College nursing students 2010, along with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada and the Carson SPCA will host a food drive for people and pets through March 26. I really like that the nurses are not only thinking about people, but the pets of people barely making it. SPCA provides pet food to families that could no longer afford them but did not want to give up their pets. So come out at 11 a.m.-4 p.m. today at Petsmart and drop off some food (people and pets), meet some wonderful pets from the SPCA that need a home, and meet some future nurses.

Rummage Sale
Come and support Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Auxiliary by checking out all the goodies for sale at the annual Auxiliary Rummage Sale. It's a fun time at a great location with lots of room to look through the many treasures for very reasonable prices. All the proceeds continue to help out all the great programs that CTRHA has started. If you want to help with this fundraiser, do some spring cleaning and donate that stuff in your closets and garages.

Luau
I have always thought Peter Starren was a wild and crazy guy. This next event might be worth the price of the ticket to see Rebecca Rund make him dress up in a grass skirt and coconuts. Only Rebecca could pull that one off and throw in a fantastic luau at the Governor's Mansion. The Coconuts for Kids Luau includes a tasty Hawaiian BBQ, music, and terrific live and silent auctions (including a car donated by Capitol City Loans).
