A Carson City man was recovering Tuesday from gunshot wounds after a dispute allegedly fueled by drugs and jealousy.
Detective Dena Lacy said the 29-year-old man, who was not named, was released from the hospital Monday morning. He was shot in the upper back and hip at his Champion Street home around 10 p.m. Sunday.
According to police, the man was allegedly smoking methamphetamine when his girlfriend felt disrespected and called her uncle and cousin.
Investigators are searching for Gregory Allen Kelly, 44; his son Gregory Allen Kelly, 23; and Antonio Lopez, 23, for questioning.
According to Detective Dena Lacy, the younger Kelly allegedly fired at least four shots at the victim, hitting him twice.
A neighbor called police but the suspects had fled.
The victim spent more than two hours at his home before a relative dropped him off at Carson Tahoe Regional Hospital. He was flown to the trauma center in Reno and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Monday afternoon, officers searched the Kelly home on Mayflower Way, less than a block from the Champion Street address. Lacy said no weapon was found, and it appeared the tenants were in the process of moving out.
Nevada Department of Corrections online records indicate both Kellys have served time in prison. Records show the father served a year in prison for attempted theft in 2005, and his son was released in January 2009 after serving at least two years on a charge of battery with intent to commit a crime.
The younger Kelly was also arrested in February on a domestic battery charge.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of either Kelly or Gonzalez are asked to call non-emergency dispatch at 887-2007.
