CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - Gov. Jim Gibbons has named Leo Drozdoff interim director of the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Drozdoff will fill the vacancy being left by Allen Biaggi, who announced his retirement effective April 30. Biaggi will remain chairman of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency governing board until his term expires in December.

Drozdoff is currently administrator for the state Division of Environmental Protection, where he has worked there for 19 years.

The environmental protection agency is within the natural resources department.

Gibbons announced Drozdoff's appointment Wednesday, saying his experience will allow for a smooth transition after Biaggi's departure.
