Soroptimist International of Carson City is offering a new scholarship for female students interested in careers focused on improving the lives of women.
The Mary Coffey Scholarship will provide $2,500 during the 2010-2011 academic year for one female college student from Carson City or Douglas County.
The recipient must exhibit a strong commitment to community service.

Completed applications are due no later than April 12.
