FALLON - Carson High's boys track squad finished third and the girls finished sixth at the annual Fallon Elks Invitational on Saturday.
The Carson boys finsihed with 64.5 points. Fallon won the title with 79.5 points and Elko was second with 70 points. Douglas was ninth with 30 and Dayton was 18th with 13.5.
The Carson girls finished with 46 points. Manogue was first with 90 followed by Douglas with 68. Dayton, thanks to Kathie Arias' wins in the shot and discus, was 12th with 26 points.
Eric Garcia of Carson won the pole vault by clearing 14 feet. The Senators' 1,600-meter relay group of Taylor Bradshaw, David McMasters, Evan Richards and Brandon Buonacorsi clocked a 3:38.50 in its winning effort. The 3,200-meter team of Nick Schlager, McMasters. Logan Philippi and Buonacorsi was second in 8:31.10.
Luke Carter enjoyed a successful day with second-place finishes 110 and 300-meter hurdles. He was times in 15.86 and 41.84, respectively. Buonacorsi was fourth in the 400 at 53.41 and McMasters was fourth in the 800 at 2:06.70. Cameron Childers was third in the pole vault at 11-6.
The Douglas boys got a second from Nick Maestretti in the pole vault (13-0), a sixth from Craig Stratton (12-0) and a seventh from Jason Seyfried (11-6). Scott Lococo was fifth in the 1,600, clocking a 4:44.0.
Dayton's Kage Walker was third in the high jump at 5-10 and third in the long jump at 20-3 3/4.
On the girls' side, Carson's Alex Fallon was second in the triple jump at 35-2 1/2, just ahead of teammate Hannah Dudley, who was third with a 32-8 1/4. Dudley also was sixth in the 100. Amber Karnofel was third in the 3,200, clocking a 12:48.50.
The Senators' 1,600-meter quartet of Morgan McEwan, Allison Cowan, Hayden Jensen and Julianne King ran a 4:23.12 for third place. The 3,200-meter group of Gordon, Erika Sosa, Caroline Montiel and Karnofel was second in 10:49.90. The 800-meter relay team of Fallon, Jensen, King and Gordon were fourth in 1:57.43.
Besides Arias, Dayton got a third-place finish from Erika Garcia in the 100 (13.43).
Douglas' 3,200-meter group of Amber Emerson, Cara Dunkelman, Sadie Gastelum and Aspen Abbott won in 10:47.20. The 400-meter group of Brazeau, Marissa Cowan, Morgan Karnofel and Easlick was second in 53.38.
Dunkleman was third in the 800 at 2:28.60. Alexyss Easlick was fourth in the 100 at 13.55. Amanda Brazeau was fourth in the 100 hurdles, clocking a 17.43 and she was second in the pole vault at 9-6. Lauren Babbitt was third in the high jump with a mark of 4-10.

DOUGLAS SWEEPS VIKINGS
MINDEN - Douglas improved to 5-1 in Sierra League play with a doubleheader sweep of South Tahoe, 3-1 and 14-0.
South Tahoe's Max DeLallo and Douglas ace Kameron Van Winkle were locked in a pitcher's duel throughout Game 1. Both pitchers threw complete games and struck out 12. DeLallo surrendered just two hits and two walks while Van Winkle (2-1) picked up his 12th career win while giving up three hits and walking three.
The difference in the game came in the bottom of the sixth with the score tied at one.
Ryan Ford drew a walk to lead off the inning and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Shane Fencl. Ford's older brother, Kyle, later hit a two-out triple to center field that brought in what was ultimately the winning run.
DeLallo was called for a balk on the second pitch to Matt Thomas, which brought Kyle Ford home at set the score at its final, 3-1.
In Game 2, Douglas took advantage of five South Tahoe errors - not to mention a home run off Van Winkle's bat.
Senior lefty Beau Battista had 12 strikeouts of his own, walking one and giving up only a pair of hits to DeLallo. Battista improved to 2-0 on the year with the win.
Kyle Ford went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Tigers while Ryan Ford, Van Winkle and Battista each drove in two runs.

DOUGLAS SOFTBALL ROLLS
MINDEN - The Tigers are now 5-1 after knocking off South Tahoe 5-2 and 9-0 Saturday.
Chelsea Fent went the distance in the opener, fanning six and allowing only one earned run.
Mady Gilbert and Katrina Morgan drove in a run apiece in the two-run third which put the Tigers ahead to stay.
Freshman Taylor McKinnon pitched a five-hit shutout in the second game. Emily Weaver and Morgan Blomstrom drove in two runs apiece to support McKinnon.
