CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - State Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto says she's about ready to give Gov. Jim Gibbons an answer whether Nevada will file suit against the federal government over the health care overhaul law.

A Masto spokeswoman says the attorney general is finishing a legal analysis of the constitutionality of the federal health care law.

Gibbons is a Republican. He claims the law is unconstitutional because it requires people to buy health insurance and penalizes those who don't.

He says he's prepared to act with or without Masto.

Masto's a Democrat. She says she's already got plenty to do, including defending Gibbons in a state Supreme Court case over e-mails he sent from a state-owned computer and a federal civil lawsuit filed by a woman fired from his office.
