The first V&T train ride of the 2010 season chugged along the 14-mile trip from Carson City to Virginia City on Saturday for a fundraiser for the Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Auxiliary.

Guests were greeted at the Carson Depot by saloon gals, portrayed by Joy Evans and Nancy Hoffman, and a gunfighter, and were treated to from Paul Schat's Bakery and coffee by Mom and Pop's Diner.

While enjoying the ride, passengers enjoyed wine, cheese and dessert, and views of wild horses along the way.

Tickets for the 2010 season are on sale now at the Carson City Convention & Visitors Bureau by calling 775-687-7410 or online at www.visitcarsoncity.com.

The official season is May 27 through Oct. 31 with a diesel locomotive on Thursdays and Fridays and the steam locomotive on Saturdays and Sundays.
