Karen "Kay" Johnson, born Sept. 2, 1943, passed away peacefully at her home on April 29, 2010. She courageously battled lung cancer for 14 months.
Kay was a very devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed online activities as well as playing a nickel or two with her extended family. She was loved by many and never met a stranger.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Maxine Zwirtz, her sister Myra King, and son Steven Zwirtz. She is survived by her companion Jeb Riley, brother Herman "PeeWee" Zwirtz, three remaining children, Lorri Robinson and Angela "Kris" Garner of Dayton, and Russell and Toni Kinyon of Burnet, Tex., as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are provided by Autumn Crematory in Carson City.
There will be a celebration of her life held at a later time. Friends and family are invited.
