The Jackpot Crossing Casino has reopened after about nine months of renovations.
The building, 1897 North Edmonds Drive, is the former Silver Dollar Casino, which used to sport a rainbow paint job. It's now painted with desert-inspired colors.
The interior of the casino also was redone. The second and third floors of the building still are under construction.
General manager D. Scott Tate said the casino will stage a grand opening event the first weekend of June.
The casino has 175 slot machines, "and we aspire to have a sports waging venue there before football season starts," Tate said, adding there are plans to eventually open a restaurant in the casino.
The casino also will install its outdoor sign sometime this month, he said.
The Silver Dollar closed July 31 and was purchased by Northern Nevada Comstock Investments, LLC., on August 31.
Northern Nevada Comstock Investments is an affiliate of WCW Corporation and also owns Cactus Jack's Senator Club and Comstock Casino in Carson City as well as the Fallon Nugget and Fernley Nugget.
