Joann Shoemaker, 74, was born May 27, 1935, in Marie, Ark., and passed away May 3, 2010, in Carson City, where she resided since 1963. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Franklin Dee Shoemaker; son Gregory Dee Shoemaker; daughter, Melissa Shoemaker-Smith; and daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Ken Furlong, all of Carson City; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters. A private graveside service will be held at Lone Mountain Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City.
