If you were following music in the late '50s and early '60s then the songs of The Four Preps will certainly stir up a memory or two. You can catch their hits and many more when The Four Preps perform in the Carson Valley Inn's Shannon Ballroom on Friday and Saturday nights

The Four Preps were fresh out of Hollywood High in the Fab '50s when their million-seller "26 Miles" (Santa Catalina) took the country by storm in 1958. This song and The Four Preps inspired others whose music became famous, including Jimmy Buffet and Beach Boys' Brian Wilson.

In their 56th year The Four Preps are still fronted by original lead singer Bruce Belland along with Bob Duncan (formerly of The Diamonds) plus Michael Redman and Skip Taylor (from The Crew Cuts).

Their concerts feature the sounds of these three groups, including "26 Miles (Across the Sea)," "Big Man," "Down by the Station," "Lazy Summer Night," "Gidget," "Sh Boom," "Unchained Melody," "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," "Little Darlin'," "Silhouettes," "Earth Angel," "Runaround Sue," "Old Time Rock 'n' Roll," "Tossin' and Turnin'," "Why Do Fools Fall in Love," "You Belong to Me," "Go Away Little Girl," "Book of Love," "Shangri La," "At the Hop," "Blue Velvet" and many many more.

Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Carson Valley Inn's Shannon Ballroom. Tickets are $22 each and may be purchased at the Carson Valley Inn Hotel Desk or by calling 775-783-6606, www.cvinn.com.

The Carson Valley Inn is located on US Highway 395 in Minden near the start of State Highway 88, 20-minutes from Lake Tahoe's south shore and 45 minutes south of Reno.
