Next NBC breakfast to feature Reno Aces GM

Nevada Business Connections will hold its next breakfast meeting at 8 a.m. May 20 at the Gold Dust West Casino in Carson City, 2171 Highway 50 E.

The breakfast features two speakers, Rick Parr, general manager, Reno Aces Baseball and Sherri Rice, Access to Healthcare Network.

Coin show coming next weekend

The Downtown Coin Club Annual Coin Show will stage its first coin show this upcoming weekend inside the Carson Nugget.

The event will feature regional coin collectors and sellers as well as activities for children and free appraisals.

Admission is $2. The event will last from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.


New chairman of UNR economics department

University of Nevada, Reno economics professor Elliott Parker was named chair of the economics department at the university.

His chairmanship starts July 1. The former chair is professor Mark Nichols.
