Coral Academy of Science Charter School representatives and parents will discuss the possibility of bringing the academy to Carson City during a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Western Nevada College's Marlette Hall.

"We are excited about the possibility of having Coral Academy help us open a charter school in Carson City, and we are having this meeting to gauge community interest in Coral Academy," said Lori Eustis, one of the parents organizing to form a charter middle school in Carson City, in a press release. "In order to make it a reality we need people to attend the meeting and let the Coral Academy know that there are enough students in Carson City to warrant expansion."

Coral Academy representatives have indicated that approximately 200 students are needed to enroll in grades 6-8 to be in the best position to get the school off the ground.

A petition is also circulating to show support for bringing Coral Academy to Carson City. Those interested in signing the petition should contact Eustis at coralcarsoncity@gmail.com.

Coral Academy of Science is a Nevada public charter school with schools in Reno and Las Vegas.
