Two men were jailed Friday evening after they allegedly beat a fast food manager who told one of them to stop calling the restaurant to speak with an employee.

Alberto Lepe, 26, a shipping and receiving clerk from Dayton, and Jaime Ponce, 19, a laborer from Carson City, were each arrested at 9:10 p.m. on suspicion of felony battery with substantial bodily harm.

According the arrest report, Ponce, a documented gang member, called the Jack in the Box on William Street to speak to with his ex-girlfriend.

The second time Ponce called, the assistant manager (and the ex-girlfriend's brother) took the phone from the girl and told Ponce to stop, the report states.

Ponce allegedly began yelling at the manager who then hung up.

Later, when the victim got off work and was getting into his vehicle, Ponce allegedly appeared, yelling and punching him. The report states Lepe, also a documented gang member, joined in. When the victim fell to the ground, both men kicked and punched him "to the point where he began to lose consciousness," the report states.

The victim was taken to the hospital by friends and was found to have multiple contusions, a fractured nose and a possible concussion.

Officers contacted and arrested Ponce and Lepe at a home on Camille Drive later that evening.

Each is being held on $10,000 bail.
